In the fetal monitoring unit, we evaluate the well-being of both the mother and the fetus throughout the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, ensuring a safe passage towards childbirth.

Who should undergo monitoring?

  • Pregnancies exceeding 40 weeks
  • Follow-up at high-risk pregnancy clinics in Sheba
  • Women referred for condition assessment due to issues found during initial community follow-up by doctors
  • Women discharged from hospitalization in a high-risk pregnancy unit
  • Women undergoing treatments and tests that require fetal condition monitoring
  • For cesarean sections
  • Prenatal counseling

What is checked in the monitoring?

  • Vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature.
  • Tests for the early stage detection of pregnancy complications
  • Electronic monitoring, using a device with two transducers, allows for monitoring the fetal heart rate and uterine activity.
  • Ultrasound scanning is used to assess biophysical indicators such as body movements, breathing, fetal tone, and amniotic fluid levels
  • Doctor's examination, including genetic testing.
  • When we detect abnormal conditions, we closely monitor and provide treatment based on the health of the mother and/or the fetus. In some cases, this may include additional unique tests.
