Clinics

 

  • The Gastroenterology Department includes general and special clinics, a professional laboratory, interdisciplinary consultation and complementary medicine.
  • Our clinics perform a professional process of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease in the GI tract.
  • Special clinics: IBD, Pelvic floor, GI oncology, motility, nutrition, Post diverticulitis.
  • The department physicians are also involved in basic and clinical research.

 

 

Endoscopic treatment

 

  • Endoscopy is performed by inserting a flexible tube containing an optic fiber and a camera.
  • By using an endoscope the GI lumen can be examined. The endoscopy serves to diagnose a lesion in the GI tract, to take biopsies and to treat the lesion in various cases.
  • The endoscopic equipment undergoes meticulous cleaning after each examination according to international standards.
  • Endoscopic examinations performed in the endoscopy unit:
  • Capsule endoscopy
  • Colonoscopy
  • Double balloon enteroscopy
  • EUS
  • ERCP
  • Gastroscopy
  • Trans rectal Ultrasound

 

 

Laboratory

 

  • The laboratory performs several routine and experimental examinations in the GI field.
  • These include:
  • Hepatitis examinations- both serology and molecular
  • Endocrine examionations- CA 19-9, Gastrin levels
  • Helicobacter Pylori ditection- both through breath test and in tissue samples Celiac diagnosis- Anti endomisal Ab
  • Maldigestion – H2 breath test
  • Infliximab/Adalidumab drug levels and antibodies
  • The laboratory involves in clinical and basic research in various fields.

 

 

Clinical studies

 

  • Various clinical studies are conducted in the department. The studies include newly developed medications and devices, as well as comparison between existing treatments. All studies are approved by the local ethics committee.
