Intensive Care for Heart Surgery
The intensive care unit was rebuilt in 2008. As part of the renovation, state-of-the-art monitoring equipment was acquired with advanced technologies from both Israel and around the world, including alert systems and electric beds. The unit is spacious, allowing for personalized patient care while maintaining maximum privacy.
The patient comes to the unit after surgery and stays for 12-36 hours, depending on their medical condition, to stabilize. It takes around half an hour to receive the patient, during which we connect them to the monitor, breathing system, and alarms. When the admission is completed, our staff contacts the patient's family to provide information and guidance about their condition and the expected progress towards removing the ventilator and transferring to the intermediate unit in the cardiac surgery department.
