Around 450 new lung cancer patients visit our lung tumor clinic every year. We work closely with the Department of Thoracic Surgery, the Institute of Lung Diseases, the Institute of Pathology, the Imaging Institute, the Radiotherapy Institute, and the entire oncology system to provide comprehensive care.
Our clinic provides treatments like state-of-the-art biological drugs and high-intensity focused radiation. We also conduct numerous clinical studies in which advanced treatments are tested - including immunotherapy (which activates the immune system) and personalized therapies. Many clinic patients participate in these studies.
Many lung cancer treatments have been tested in the clinic as part of large groundbreaking clinical studies. We participate in nearly every important clinical study in the field, sometimes in addition to individual medical centers worldwide
Additionally, our clinic's doctors are actively engaged in basic research of the cellular and molecular mechanisms that cause normal or damaged lung tissue to become cancerous, with the goal of developing drugs that can both prevent and treat lung cancer.
