In the fetal medicine unit, we perform prenatal diagnoses and ultrasound-guided intrauterine treatments, including endoscopic surgeries inside the uterus.
The doctors in our unit are dedicated to providing intrauterine treatment for pregnancies, aiming to cure or improve the condition of the fetus that may not survive without intervention after birth. Our unit performs dozens of life-saving invasive intrauterine treatments for fetuses every year. The unit has extensive experience in giving blood transfusions to fetuses suffering from extreme anemia due to illness during pregnancy. Additionally, we have successfully treated numerous cases of monochorionic twin pregnancies, wherein complications arise due to the sharing of the placenta between the twins, endangering their lives.
Our team also excels in rectifying fetal defects and closely monitoring cases with abnormal placental function. Throughout these procedures, we utilize state-of-the-art equipment to ensure the highest level of care.
At the same time, we find ourselves amidst an exciting revolution in the fields of molecular biology and genetics. These advancements greatly contribute to a deeper understanding, improved diagnosis, and enhanced treatment options. The synergy between technological and biological progress enables us to gain a more comprehensive perspective on fetal issues, allowing us to provide valuable advice and superior treatment.
The fetal medicine unit brings together a dedicated team of experts: specialized obstetricians skilled in performing ultrasound exams, geneticists, imaging doctors, neonatologists, professional doctors from different pediatric fields, and a supportive midwife who accompanies women during their exams and treatments.
In the fetal medicine unit, we specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of the following conditions:
