Our clinic offers a comprehensive approach for children facing genetic metabolic bone diseases, a higher risk of fractures, imbalances in calcium and phosphorus, and bone health issues caused by chronic conditions like neurological problems, CP, Rett syndrome, inflammatory bowel diseases, and prolonged steroid treatment, among others.
Patients receive the following services:
- Clinical and lab evaluation for bone disease.
- Bone density scans using a DXA device at the Advanced Technology Center (ATC)
Referral for genetic testing if a bone genetic disorder is suspected.
- Treatment to boost bone density with bisphosphonates (Zomera infusion, provided during day hospital visits).
The clinic’s staff works in collaboration with the Pediatric Orthopedics Clinic, the Endocrine Laboratory and the Pediatric Imaging Institute.
