Our clinic specialises in the treatment of myeloproliferative disorders, characterised by the overproduction of blood cells due to disruptions or changes in stem cells within the bone marrow. These conditions include primary or secondary myelofibrosis, polycythemia vera, and thrombocytosis.
Our patients undergo a range of comprehensive tests such as blood count, blood surface, cytogenetic and molecular tests, including chromosome testing and genetic mutations such as JAK2, calreticulin (CALR) and MPL and NGS tests, as required. We also closely monitor improvements through blood tests, checking the size of the spleen, and monitoring any decrease in fibrosis (scar tissue) levels, based on the findings from repeated bone marrow biopsies.
Our clinic is at the forefront of researching new pharmaceuticals, focusing on JAK2 inhibitors and their potential synergies with epigenetic medications, including BET, BCL2, and BCxl inhibitors.
