The neurological-neurosurgical intensive care unit, established in 2011, is the first of its kind in Israel and Israel’s largest.
The unit provides care for patients with complex brain and neurological issues who require constant supervision. Each room is specially designed for a single patient and is equipped with state-of-the-art technology. This includes advanced monitoring devices, computers, and a connection to the hospital's information systems, including electronic medical records and imaging. These measures facilitate ongoing monitoring of patients' status and prompt intervention as necessary. Additionally, the unit is equipped with a dedicated brain CT machine, enabling convenient bedside examinations to be conducted.
Treatment in the unit is provided by a highly skilled and multidisciplinary team specializing in the management of patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions. The team consists of medical and nursing professionals, coordinating nurses in different specialties, physical therapists, a social worker, and a dietitian. The nursing staff comprises experienced staff with expertise in intensive care, graduates from reputable academic institutions, and individuals holding advanced academic degrees.
Our Unit’s team constantly receives updates and engages in various professional development activities, attending lectures and conferences in the nursing and medical field. It also serves as a clinical learning environment for medical and nursing students.
We are dedicated to offering compassionate care, ensuring a comforting and secure environment for both the patient and their loved ones. Our utmost priority is providing professional treatment and support throughout the hospitalization period.
Information for families
To ensure the safety of our patients, we kindly request that only one visitor remains with each patient and that children refrain from visiting the unit. During treatments or tests, we kindly ask visitors to temporarily step out of the waiting room until the procedures are completed. Entry to the unit should be coordinated with the care team. Remember to wash your hands before entering and leaving. We kindly ask for your understanding and request that you wait until your entry is enabled. The family waiting room is located right at the entrance to the unit. For your convenience, there is a bathroom right next to it.
