In the Oral Medicine unit, we specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of oral mucosal diseases, whether they occur independently or as part of systemic conditions. Our expertise extends to autoimmune diseases affecting the skin and glands, recurrent aphthous ulcers, pigmentary lesions, and precancerous lesions.

Our unit provides a service for diagnosing and treating salivary gland diseases, including dry mouth caused by various factors, such as drug or radiation therapy, Sjogren's syndrome, and others. We also diagnose and treat the side effects resulting from oncological treatments, such as mucositis, dry mouth, taste changes, and bone thinning in patients receiving bisphosphonates (e.g., Aredia, Zometa, Fosalan).

Within the unit, clinical studies are conducted using innovative treatment methods for oral mucosa diseases, as well as early detection and treatment of pre-cancerous lesions in the oral cavity.

The unit frequently collaborates with various departments in the hospital, such as the dermatology department, infectious diseases unit, hematology department, oncology department, and more. This inter-departmental collaboration greatly contributes to diagnosing rare diseases and providing the appropriate treatment for complex medical conditions.
