Patients are referred to our clinic when there are concerns about potential syndromes, deformities, or developmental issues during childhood. During the consultation, we provide individuals with recommendations for diagnostic tests or confirmation of an existing diagnosis. In addition, we explain the laboratory results and provide information about tests to help prevent recurrence of the disease in the immediate and distant family.

During the visit, the relevant medical history is summarized and a family tree is constructed. It is important to bring along all relevant medical documents, including the child's test results, the mother's prenatal test records, as well as any tests conducted on other family members.

In most cases, genetic counseling involves a thorough physical examination, so, it's very important to bring your child along for the consultation.

At the end of the consultation, we provide information on how to prevent the disease from recurring in future offspring, both within your immediate family and extended family, and provide you with an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. Additionally, a summary will be sent to the attending physician, which may sometimes include instructions for additional tests. In most cases, at least one more visit will be required to provide a summary consultation.
