Our clinic provides care for patients who have undergone cardiac surgery and are experiencing incision wounds in the sternum or limbs from which a vein was “harvested” for bypass. At the clinic, we conduct follow-up examinations, investigations, diagnoses, and treatments until the wounds are completely healed.

The clinic offers a variety of wound treatment methods, among the most advanced in the world, including conservative treatments, surgical treatments, and macrophage injections (CureXcell). “Smart” dressings are widely used to absorb exudate, provide a moist environment for dry wounds, and release antibacterial substances - depending on the nature of the wound.

The use of an active vacuum device is also employed when necessary to actively remove exudate, reduce swelling around the wound and the blood vessels, improve blood flow to the wound area, and accelerate the healing process.

Another unique treatment offered at the clinic is treatment with activated macrophages (CureXcell). The treatment was given for the first time to patients with postoperative wounds, here at Sheba, and we have accumulated impressive knowledge and experience in the use of this technology with patients. So far, hundreds of postoperative patients have been treated at the clinic with this method after being referred from hospitals in Israel and around the world.

This groundbreaking technology harnesses the power of living human cells to intervene in the intricate mechanism of wound healing. By activating these immune system cells, we can kickstart and expedite the healing process. It's worth noting that this innovative cell therapy is not only the world's first of its kind but also the sole treatment approved for human use in wound healing.
