The postpartum period is a relatively short phase that begins after the placenta is delivered at birth and lasts around 6 weeks. During this time, the mother experiences a range of physiological, anatomical, and emotional changes until her body's systems return to their pre-pregnancy function.

There are two common postpartum phenomena to be aware of: undetected illness that may manifest after the mother's discharge and during the subsequent weeks, and a significantly high rate of readmissions, occurring from a few days to weeks after delivery.

To effectively tackle undetected morbidity and reduce repeat hospitalizations, it is crucial to identify risk factors for potential complications. By promptly recognizing risk factors in specific mothers, we can respond quickly and prevent the disease from worsening.

The target population includes women who are recovering from surgical wounds, pelvic infections, pre- or post-partum pelvic pain resulting from changes in bone and pelvic ligament levels, as well as individuals with hypertension, heart disease, and connective tissue disorders.
