Prior to surgery, patients are required to attend a pre-surgical clinic appointment. The surgical coordinator will arrange the date of this visit with you and can be contacted by phone at 03-5302711.
What to expect during your visit? Before your surgery, the clinic nurse will get your medical file ready. This includes blood tests, a chest x-ray, an ECG, a letter detailing your medical history, and any regular medications you're on. The nurse will also give you instructions on how to prepare for the surgery. Additionally, you'll meet with the department's doctor and an anesthesiologist.
The purpose of the meeting is to assess your medical readiness for surgery and to complete any necessary medical examinations.
Preparing for your visit:
- Don’t forget to bring form 17.
- Finish any tests your health fund requires before your surgery.
- Expect to spend several hours at the clinic, so have breakfast and take your usual medications before you come.
