Respiratory day hospitalization is a therapeutic program for individuals who need assessment, follow-up treatment, and respiratory rehabilitation due to illness or accident. Our unit aims to offer high-quality, safe, and professional care through an experienced and knowledgeable multidisciplinary team. Upon your arrival, our team will assess your condition and create a customized treatment plan to improve your respiratory health. Our goals are to enhance your personal, social, and occupational functioning while preserving your quality of life. Our team includes physicians, nurses, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, and nutritionists.

The treatment in the unit includes:

  • Evaluation of strengths and device verification for fitting and discrepancies (e.g., IPV).
  • Monitoring patients using invasive and noninvasive ventilation devices.
  • Monitoring and treatment of patients with tracheostomy for adaptation and/or replacement of cannula and decannulation.
  • Training and treatment for tracheostomy: options for speech and communication with and without ventilation.
  • Assessment and consultation for limb amputation.
  • Blood gas analysis.
  • Performing lung function and respiratory muscle tests for complex patients: with oropharyngeal weakness/head injuries/tracheostomy, etc. Performing lung function and respiratory muscle tests for complex patients: with oropharyngeal weakness/head injuries/tracheostomy, etc.

It is really important to incorporate respiratory and breathing exercises for complex patients, like those with facial muscle weakness, head injuries, or tracheostomy. Day hospitalization plays a crucial role in our comprehensive rehabilitation center, offering a range of units. Our care team will provide treatments such as hydrotherapy, gardening, art therapy, virtual reality, occupational therapy, group therapy, and other advanced technology-based therapies, based on the recommendations of the treating team.
