Teratology Clinic - Drug Counselling for Pregnant Women
Clinic hours:
Wednesday and Thursday
Location:
Gynecology and Maternity Department, Entrance Floor, Prenatal Medicine Unit
The service offers evidence-based guidance and up-to-date information, backed by research, on the potential risks to the fetus during pregnancy from medication, radiation, and diseases.
In cases where the administration of a potentially risky medication during pregnancy is necessary, the teratology service provides comprehensive obstetric monitoringת targeted system reviews, blood drug level tests, and any other measures required to ensure positive pregnancy outcomes.
The main and most important activity of the teratology service is the coordination and promotion of research in the field of drug safety during pregnancy. These studies are conducted in collaboration with other units in the hospital and with similar units in Israel and around the world, and form the basis for updates and advice provided to pregnant women and medical teams. The service has a special and continuous partnership with the esteemed MotherRisk program in Canada, one of the world's foremost centers in this field.
