According to the Health Ministry Survey 2021, Sheba Emergency Room has earned the highest accolade for patient satisfaction.

The Emergency Room at Sheba, known as a "super triage facility", is one of six trauma centers in Israel. It serves as a dedicated triage hub for referrals in the central region of the country, specifically for cases involving neurosurgery, thoracic surgery, burns, and rehabilitation. It also receives critically ill patients from peripheral hospitals’ emergency rooms.

The Emergency Medicine Department team (ER) boasts a team of ten specialist doctors in emergency medicine, supported by another twenty-two emergency medicine residents who have undergone extensive and comprehensive training. The triage nurses possess expertise in advanced nursing care and essential training in emergency medicine, trauma, or critical care. The team is committed to efficiently prioritizing patients, accurately diagnosing their conditions, and providing appropriate treatment based on the nature and severity of their medical needs.

The Emergency Room facility, renovated in 2018, is spacious and meets advanced standards, in line with top-tier hospitals worldwide. It is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and cutting-edge technologies for diagnosis, treatment, resuscitation, and emergency medical monitoring. On-site, there is an independent and sophisticated imaging unit comprising an X-ray room, a CT scanner, and future provision for ultrasound services. This eliminates the need for patients to be transferred between locations for tests and scans. When necessary, X-ray and ultrasound examinations can be conducted directly at the patient's bedside.

To maintain an atmosphere of privacy, tranquillity, and serenity for all patients, we kindly request that each patient be accompanied by only one caregiver. Patients and their families have access to seating areas, a coffee lounge, a children's play area, and a dedicated spot for quiet and respectful conversations with families.

A note about peak hours:

Peak hours can extend from 11:00 in the morning until 18:00 in the evening. During these times, the heavy workload can sometimes make patients and their families feel anxious and overwhelmed. Such emotions are completely normal and understandable. Thus, our triage team strives to provide a comfortable and pleasant experience while ensuring visitors are treated with empathy, patience, and utmost respect.

We wish to make it clear that any form of verbal or physical abuse is unacceptable and will not be tolerated by the department management. If you feel you have received inappropriate medical or human treatment, you are welcome to contact us in writing at: sherut@sheba.gov.il or to the Emergency Department Secretary: frida.noy@sheba.health.gov.il.
