The Pediatric Coagulation Unit of the Pediatric Hemato-Oncology Department deals with bleeding disorders such as Hemophilia, Von Willebrand Disease, rare Coagulopathies, Thrombastenia, and Glanzmann.  We evaluate pre-operative patients and hospitalized children with DIC complicated due to severe bleeding or thrombosis.

We also screen children suffering from VTE for Hyper Coagulability, including the Prothrombotic DNA Polymorphisms (factor V Leiden, MTHFR and G20210A Prothrombin) and Homocysteine Levels.  As the leading Pediatric Coagulation Unit in Israel, we have a national registry of Childhood Stroke and DVT. In all our work, we collaborate closely with the National Hemophilia Center at the Sheba Medical Center.
