Our clinic performs a range of laboratory tests including blood and bone marrow analysis. These tests include: antigen phenotyping (using FACS), immunohistochemical staining, genetics and chromosome testing for chromosomal translocations using BioView, as well as molecular profiling including quantitative PCR and GenChip genetic profiling, if required. Additionally, we perform bone marrow biopsies and send tests for tissue classification.
Our patients receive advanced treatment, which may involve chemotherapy and the latest epigenetic drugs like 5 Aza-Decitabine and Revlimid® (Lenalidomide). Within the framework of clinical studies, patients are given novel drugs such as oral Vidaza® and genetic signalling inhibitors that promote controlled cell death, and more.
For patients with iron overload resulting from multiple transfusions, we offer iron chelation therapy within the framework of a clinical study. Suitable patients may be referred, in collaboration with our transplant specialists, for an allogeneic stem cell transplant from a fully matched family member or an unrelated volunteer donor. The transplantation procedure involves grafts from peripheral blood or bone marrow.
