Orthopedic US examination is used to image different joints such as the shoulder, the elbow, the wrist, hip, knee and ankle for suspected pathologies in tendons or muscles, for evaluating inflammatory or infectious diseases of the joint or soft tissues, and for assessing soft tissue tumors.

Orthopedic US examination does not require special preparation or fasting.
