Our unit provides care for patients diagnosed with cancer in the gastrointestinal tract, including the esophagus, stomach, pancreas, liver, gallbladder and bile ducts, colon, ileum (rectum), and anus. Additionally, we coordinate the treatment of rare tumors, such as stromal tumors in the digestive system (GIST), and neuroendocrine tumors.

In recent years, there have been significant advancements in gastrointestinal cancer research. Understanding the molecular basis of these diseases has paved the way for innovative treatments, leading to the cure and prolonged survival of many patients. Our unit's staff promotes personalized medicine and patients are given chemotherapeutic and biological drugs, including approved innovative and experimental ones (currently in clinical research stages).

Our team strives to provide every patient with the best possible individual care, taking into account their unique needs and those of their family. They work closely with the radiation institute, hepatobiliary surgery department, surgery departments, gastroenterology institute, liver disease center, and imaging institute. Additionally, the team refers patients to genetic, orthopedic, neurological, and nutritional counseling, as well as pain management and psychosocial services.

Every patient is assigned a permanent team consisting of a senior doctor and a coordinating nurse. They will be there throughout the entire treatment process, ensuring they understand the patient's needs and providing the necessary support and care.
