Nurses are available in the recovery room of the institute. Their role at the Radiotherapy Institute involves training patients for radiation, managing expected side effects, and providing care during the radiation period. The nursing team is highly skilled, professional, and experienced in meeting unique patient needs.
Nurses play a crucial role in providing group audiovisual training for breast and ovarian radiation treatments. This training involves the participation of a social worker and a dietician, and the dates are posted on the institute's notice boards. Attending these sessions is highly important as they greatly contribute to the preparation and success of the treatment.
Other responsibilities of nurses include coordinating complex treatments, conducting training for patients with head-neck tumors, brain tumors, cervical tumors, or those receiving combined chemotherapy and radiation. Individual training sessions are conducted prior to the start of treatments. Nurses also monitor patients during treatment, assessing side effects and taking relevant measurements for the treatment.
Early detection of side effects and their treatment.
Consultation if necessary to assess and treat symptoms.
Providing answers to patients' questions and offering support accordingly.
