The Center for Imaging and Diagnosis of Breast Diseases in Tel Hashomer’s Meirav Breast Center was established with the aim of promoting and improving early detection of breast cancer. Early detection may lead to a complete cure of the disease.

The Breast Imaging unit diagnoses benign and malignant breast diseases, using imaging tests: mammography (with and without contrast material), breast ultrasound, 3D ultrasound and breast MRI. In addition, diagnostic tests, including biopsy and aspiration, are conducted to obtain an accurate diagnosis.

The center is equipped with all the modern imaging devices required for diagnosis and early detection of breast cancer. In June 2021, an innovative breast MRI device, the first of its kind in Israel, was introduced at the Meirav Breast Center. The device utilizes advanced technology to enhance image quality, enabling better identification of suspicious findings and detection of malignant breast tumors at an early stage.

At the Meirav Center, there is collaboration between all doctors who treat both women and men with breast diseases: radiologists who interpret the images, surgeons, gynecologists, geneticists and oncologists.
