Our clinic aims to empower athletes to participate in their chosen activities while safeguarding their wellbeing. Individuals with specific heart conditions must tailor their physical exertion to their health to minimise the risk of cardiac issues or sudden fatality during exercise.
Arrhythmias and electrical conduction disorders are frequent in athletes of all ages and levels. Young athletes may experience disturbances in heart rhythm due to congenital cardiac conditions, while older athletes might have arrhythmias that require investigation. While most findings are harmless, some disorders can be life-threatening during physical exertion.
The clinic's target population includes:
- Active individuals with diagnosed cardiovascular issues requiring activity adjustments or clarifications.
- Individuals experiencing cardiac symptoms during or after physical activity like irregular heartbeats, palpitations, fainting, chest pain, breathlessness, reduced exercise capacity.
- Active individuals with a family history of early heart disease, sudden death during physical activity, or unexplained deaths.
- Individuals with heart disease, arrhythmia, or heart conduction issues who want to start physical activity safely.
