The Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) service offers a comprehensive and multi-system approach to patients with ulcerative colitis. Our service includes diagnosis, treatment, and, if needed, endoscopic ancillary tests to evaluate the disease's condition and histological findings (biopsy results). These biopsies are performed by a pathologist who specializes in gastroenterology.

Basic research on topics such as identifying the causes of the development of inflammatory bowel diseases, understanding the mechanisms of action of various drugs, and the effects of nutritional components on the inflammatory process.

At our core, we believe in a "patient-centric" approach. This means we work closely with a range of professionals to ensure the best and safest treatment possible. Our team includes doctors specializing in inflammatory bowel diseases, IBD nurses, a drug infusion unit, a mental support team with a psychiatrist and medical psychologist, dieticians specializing in inflammatory bowel diseases, a complementary medicine team, a research unit for clinical studies, and a gastrointestinal imaging unit.

We also maintain continuous contact with consultants from various medical fields, including joint diseases, skin, eyes, high-risk pregnancy, surgery, imaging, and pathology. This helps us stay up to date and well-informed.
