Our clinic offers emotional and developmental support to parents right after their baby leaves the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). We aim to support parents from the time they leave the NICU until they start regular check-ups at a child development centre. This support allows parents to stay at home with their newborn and receive help via Zoom. This makes things less stressful for the parents and lets us, the treatment team, support them in their own environment.
Parents get support from a team including social workers, dietitians, and physiotherapists. Our team helps tackle the uncertainties and challenges of baby care, providing emotional support as well. Meetings are held via Zoom on a weekly basis, starting one week after leaving the neonatal unit and continuing until the start of follow-up at the Child Development Center. These sessions can be extended if needed.
